Small Things That Mean Alot

It’s the…

…simple prayer said before dinner.

…candles he lights throughout the house.

…”SMILE” he puts at the end of each text.

…arm he puts around me as we fall asleep.

…wink over a glass of wine as he toasts, “To you”.

…story he reads to Livvy as she sits on his lap.

…surprise visits throughout the week.

…chuckles we share as his snoring wakes him on the couch.

…quiet gentless of a loving father–even when the child is not his own.

…apple slices he places on the rims of the glasses containing homemade juice.

…interest he takes in sharing my day.

…way he walks.

…strength to be both masculine and sensitive at the same time.

…sharing of brownie mix as we lick the bowl.

…quoting of a Garth Brooks’ song

…humbleness in being able to say “I’m sorry”.

    This is a lovely tribute.

So–the mystery is–who is this? Husband? Sweetheart? Father? Son? And how are they related to you?

Or is the mystery part of the intent of the verse as well?

Fun to see these descriptions–esp. the apple slice. I could use a glass of homemade apple juice about now!

Very touching, have you shared this with him?
